History

In 1972, the current director and owner, Niels Mosegaard, and his partner at the time, Ole Kjær Knudsen, bought Kay Borchs Clothing Factory.

The factory had concentrated on producing 100% cotton garments for hospitals since 1947. By the time of the take over, however, the order book was almost empty as a result of new market trends.

Polyester/Cotton textiles were seen as the future, so the two new directors set about restructuring the company to live up to the demands of the new market. They developed new products, invested in modern machinery and an in-service training programme for the staff.

Borch Textile Group in Slagelse

Since 1972, Kay Borch A/S has consistently developed its models and improved their quality, becoming a trend-setter in a constantly changing market.

Kabotex ApS was founded in 1974 for the express purpose of offering a complete range of products to the company's customers. Kabotex ApS services hospitals and industrial laundries, supplying a combination of standard product lines and goods made according to customer specifications. Kabotex markets knitwear, socks, etc. for staff and patients.

Scanco-Textil ApS was founded in 1990 as the finishing touch to the Borch Textile Group, transforming it into an all-round supplier of textiles. Scanco-Textil ApS imports towels, dish towels, nappies, bedclothes, etc. from specially selected suppliers in the Far East.

Basically, the Borch Textile Group stands for the same now as it did back in 1972 - foreseeing the user's needs before they crop up.
